Tracie Hotchner, the Founder & Director of both festivals, has put together two collections of dog films that haven’t been seen in theaters. The films in NEW YORK, NEW YORK and WONDERFULLY WACKY were not in the programs seen on the big screen. Tracie pulled together all the animated films from every year of the Dog Film Festival and made ANIMATED CANINES, one delightful collection for all members of the family.
This series of brilliantly artful animated films depict the dogs in our lives in a wide variety of styles and ways. (Think of these as the kind of animated films that get nominated for Oscars, not Saturday morning kids’ cartoons!)
Every film in this collection is set in New York City and celebrates the special ways that dogs and people share urban life.
